Frequently Asked Questions

Polyaspartic is a derivative of polyurea (its technical term is polyaspartic aliphatic polyurea). It’s a coating material specifically reformulated for surface-level concrete to provide faster curing times, UV stability, added durability, and more resistance to stains and chemicals.

In most cases, we would need to completely remove the existing coating by grinding it down to the cement before installing the new coating.

Yes, we can patch any cracks or pitting before we install the coating. However, we are not a floor leveling company and cannot repair deep, uneven cracks where the slab needs to be raised.

The entire process will be completed in 1 day. You’ll be able to walk on the floor 12–24 hours later and have full return to service in 36–48 hours.

Note: Exact cure times vary depending on outside temperature and humidity levels.

There is an odor present during the installation and for a short time after, but the products are non–hazardous and the smell usually dissipates within a few days with plenty of ventilation. If the smell is a concern, a low–VOC, no-odor alternative is available upon request for an additional charge.

Like most floors, polyaspartic coatings should be considered slippery when wet. Although an aggregate such as flake will help, we also include a non–slip additive in the top coat with every floor we do.

When properly installed and with normal wear and tear, polyaspartic coatings will easily last 20+ years.
